The Golden-tailed gecko (Strophurus taenicauda), listed as Near Threatened in Queensland, is a nocturnal arboreal lizard of dry forests and woodlands. Its golden-flecked tail not only dazzles predators but can also release a sticky defensive fluid when disturbed.
